What’s new?

Well, for starters … I got a new camera. I have been wanting a new camera for a very long. I have done my research. I have window shopped. I have drooled. And I was just waiting for my husband’s stamp of approval. The stamp cam last Friday and I went right out and got this little guy:



It’s a EOS Rebel T1i with EF-S 18-55mm IS and I’m in heaven.  This is my first Digitial SLR and I love, love, love it. I have always used a basic point and shoot camera and now that I’ve gone this route, I’ll never be able to go back. The pictures, even on auto mode, are so much better. I have been having a blast taking pictures of everything. 

I’m in the second week of Shimelle‘s “Love Your Pictures, Love Your Pages” online class. I’m happy to say I’m keeping up and have created 4 new layouts as part of the class. Here’s a look at what I’ve been working on.

    Ever weekend, which is the only time I have to spare, I make at least one vintage page and a couplecards. My goal is to have a whole box of cars to send to he troops:)

    I am so happy you got the Canon Rebel, I have one too and every weekend I take pictures of everything. I love that camera! So I know how you feel:D What I am currently working on is a giant family portrait. We haven’t had one in years so that is my goal before the summer is out.

    Great camera and layouts!!! I started back to college in January and I’ve been off this summer, but school starts again in August so I’ve been working like mad trying to get caught up on as much as my scrapping as possible because once school starts I have extremely limited time to scrap.

    What a great camera!!!! I JUST got a Canon Rebel for Mothers Day and had been waiting for one for a looong time and it was soo worth it.. Right now, we are up to swim lessons every day for the whole month of July, the kids love it and I love being out in the sun!!!

    I love my Canon Rebel too! I am doing my best to catch up on my mountains of photos just waiting to find their way into a scrapbook album.

    You will just love your new camera! I got a rebel a little while ago and haven’t picked up a point and shoot since! :) I am just working on a few scrapbook pages here and there! Doing a few challenges over at scrapfriendzy.com for their summer scrap camp.

    I’m currently working on some layouts inspired by May Flaum’s BPS class – Camp Scrap. Currently I’m working on what she calls a “recipe” where she gives you things to put on a layout and you do what you want: basically a recipe for a layout. I am using papers from my June kit, and a page on my son’s third haircut and he was 2 1/2 years old. He just looks like a big boy in the pictures and so handsome :)

    Can I just say…jealous?!?!?! I, too, am waiting for my husband’s stamp of approval on a DSLR…hopefully before the holidays!!! Great photos & layouts!!! And thanks for the chance to win!

    I just received a box of old photographs from my mother and one from my mother-in-law. I am scanning them each day and looking for wonderful ways to use them in my crafting once I have restored them. This will be a year long project, but one that I love.

    Hope I’m not too late to enter!!! I’ve been working entirely too much the last couple of weeks which has gotten me very far behind (nothing new there!) on my 4 (yes FOUR) BPS classes I’m currently enrolled in, but hoping to start working on catching up soon!

    I am working on too many projects at one time. I actually did just complete a page about my son’s 12th birthday. It feels so good to scrapbook!!!
