I’m taking another class. This one is called “Love Your Pictures, Love Your Pages.” It’s from Shimelle and you can find the class here. The class is a hybrid of photography and scrapbooking. It focuses on taking better pictures that you’ll love … which means you’ll love your scrapbooking pages more as a result.
Before the class started, we were given a challenge to take a spontaneous photo. We were told to take a photo in the next five minutes. And at that moment, Shelby walked into my room and had a meltdown. So, I took a picture of her meltdown! I’m sure she hated me at the moment, but I am so glad I have this photo. I take all sorts of happy photos, but we aren’t always happy, right?

The class prompt for the second day had us taking pictures of flowers. Here’s my favorite from that prompt. Finding flowers in Arizona can be tough. If I would have had more time and was feeling better (I have an ear infection right now), I would have found a flowering cactus to shoot, which is my absolute favorite desert image.
These photos, like most of them, were taken on my point and shoot or my iPhone (I take a lot of iPhone pictures). I’m getting a fancy camera this month!!! Woo hoo! I can’t wait. I hope when I get the new camera my pictures will be even better.

I have a pair of cargo capri pants that are my absolute favorite thing to wear. I wear them all the time. I often take them off at the end of the day, throw them in the washing machine and make plans to wear them again the next day. I’m sort of the same way with my scrapbooking supplies. I get a few favorite things; use them over and over; eventually burn myself out on them; and move onto some new favorite things.
What are my current favorites?
Handmade embellishments and Etsy:

Some cute flowers that can be found at the Creative Chaos Etsy shop
I was searching Etsy the other day for inspiration, as well as goodies to buy when I stumble on a fun little shop called Creative Chaos. I love, love, love her stuff.

Some more adorable goodies from Creative Chaos
Maya Mist:

A project I recently completed using the red Maya Mist
I really am lovin’ working with Maya Mists. I have always been a big fan of ink, and I like the easy of use the spray mists offer. I also like the variety of ways you can use the mists. I especially like taking large chipboard shapes and using them as masks. It’s a great way to stretch your supplies and get a unique look.
Online classes:
I have been looking for some online class I can take to help spark my creativity and teach me some new techniques. My current focus has been on ways to improve my journaling and better tell my story. I found a few different classes that I signed up for, but the one I’m most excited about is a workshop called “Capture your Dreams,” which is being offered at Creativity Prompt, a very cool web site/blog that is designed to help “spark creativity in many different areas” through creative prompts.
You can’t go wrong with education. No matter how much you know, there is always something more you can learn. I never want to become so sure of myself that I stop seeking out new opportunities to learn.
What are your favorite things right now? Share … maybe they’ll be one of my next obsessions!
