Halloween Checklist Mini

By Grace Tolman

This mini was inspired by one of the papers in the kit. It was the MME kraft paper that had fun things noted about Halloween. One part there was the Halloween checklist. I decided to cut them off and use that as the spring board for the mini.

Of course I used the wonderful Basic Grey mini. I covered the more part of it with pattern paper. I used the Pink Paislee paper for the front page because I loved the tree and tombstone designs on it. With that on my front page, I knew that I didn’t have to dress the cover too much just to emphasize the theme.

I added some orange glitter glue around the front and back covers and placed the title block on the cover.

For the inside pages, I visualized it to be simple and repetitive. I feel there’s nothing wrong with the inside pages being the same basic design. It actually brings all of the pages together.

This book will most likely be for this year’s Halloween’s activities so I left lots of spaces for pictures with precut white cardstock. These cardstock will also act as matting for my photos when I’m ready to print and add them to the book. It’ll save me time in the future.
I also sprinkled the JBS buttons in there. The acted as my one constant embellishment all through out the book.

And for the back (above), the Pink Paislee paper again and added a simple strip of paper to add my signature.

Hope you like it!

May kits are up

Posted on by crazydaisy

Hello from Brazil!

I have been jet lagged and super busy … so I have been slow to blog.

I posted the May kits a few days back, but wanted to showcase just how wonderful they are …

The Main Kit is a wonderful collection of purples and blues and features the Kaisercraft antique tag album. Isn’t it delicious?

The mini is quite different with cheery yellows from the Pink Paislee Queen Bee Collection. Since I love yellow and it makes me happy, this kit is one of my favorites.

Kits ship on May 10th, so if you don’t have yours already … get it now!

Where in the world is CD?

Posted on by crazydaisy

We packed up a March 2010 Kit.

Shipped it somewhere exotic.

And it has landed in the lap of a real world scrapper.

Where in the world is Crazy Daisy?

Starting with our March 2010 Main Kit we’ll be playing a little game we like to call, “Where in the world is Crazy Daisy?” We have found scrappers around the globe and we’ll be sending our kits to them. As we wait to see what they create with it, we’ll give you hints about where they are from. Try to guess. If you guess right, you’ll be entered to win a prize. Once the scrapper and their locale is revealed, he or she will tell us a little bit about what crafting is like in their part of the world, what inspires them and of course show us what they created with our kits!

How fun is this? If you love to craft and would like to get one of our kits (for free!) and play along with us, send me an email. We still have a few spots left for 2010.

Now … time for some hints as to where the March 2010 Kit landed.

  • Almost 43 million people live here
  • Those who live here are serious about soccer
  • The colors of this country’s flag are red, green, white, blue, yellow … with a little black to boot.
  • There was a movie, which got Oscar buzz and a few nominations, that featured this country

Any ideas where in the world Crazy Daisy might be? Tell us where you think our March Kit is … and even if you don’t get it right, we’ll pick a winner next Friday (March 26) . The winner will get a cool bunch of goodies, including a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, MME papers and a Crazy Daisy Scrapbooking tote.

October Kits are here

Can you believe that it’s already October?

Seriously, time is just flying by. My little boy is going to be 6-months-old on Sunday. And it feels like he just arrived. It’s going to be Christmas before I know it and I’m not ready. Were in the heck has all the time gone?

With the arrival for October, we have some awesome kits available. Our main kit features a 7 Gypsies Black Board Book, which I love. It will be perfect for all the Halloween pictures I’ll be taking. In fact, it might even end up being a gift for my brother. He and his soon-to-be-wife are getting married on Halloween. My daughter will be a flower in their wedding, so I was thinking about making them a Halloween themed album as a gift. It would be really great if I get it all done before the wedding and then can just add the pictures later! Oh, I’m so excited about this kit. So many possibilities. The other notable items are the really cool specialty paper from Making Memories (think flocked and fancy!).

And, the add-on kit is equally as adorable, just smaller. If you’re not sure about joinin our club … then start with an add-on kit. In fact, if you order an add-on kit before the 10th of October, we’ll throw in a free gift with your order. And if you already subscribe to our main kit …then just send me an email telling us you want to the add-on kit too. We’d love to send you a free gift as well!

A look at the cover of Grace's mini-book

Our design team member Grace worked her magic on this month’s mini-book. Check out what she’s done.  Interested in knowing how Grace came up with the idea for the mini-book and a little of what went into creating it? Then read on.

“The theme of the book was inspired by the ‘notes’ sheets in the kit. I cut out each of the titles of these sheets and used them as tabs for my ‘planner’ book.

I didn’t decorate the front that much since it had the pretty bird and floral pattern on it already. I did add a few pebbles to the top to create some balance.

I decorated the first page with pattern paper, border trims and flower. I used the leftover canvas sheet to write a little title.

To decorate the rest of the pages, I punched out circles from the pattern paper, cut them in half and adhere them on the edges. This gave the white pages some life and yet left room for whatever I have to write on there.

For the back, I created a monogrammed block by covering one of the chipboard blocks with pattern paper and adding my initial in the middle.”

The mini-book for June’s main kit is adorable. It has a felt cover and it’s a Crazy Daisy exclusive. You’re not going to find it any where else. Jennifer designed it just for our members and I promise that you’ll love it! It comes in one of two colors (teal or green).

Check out this mini-book. It has a felt cover and every book is different. This is a Crazy Daisy exclusive, designed by our own Miss Jennifer!

One AWESOME mini-book

Guest designer extraordinaire, Miss Kim, has made the best mini-book ever using this month’s (May 2009) main kit. It’s also quite timely as it’s a tribute to her mother.

Check it out. And stay tuned for more samples/ideas from Kim as the month goes on. To see more photos from this particular project, visit our gallery or Kim’s personal blog.

Spring has sprung new kits!

The April kits are now available and they are beyond cute.

There's tons of ribbon and springy embellisments in the April 2009 Main kit. And aren't these colors just yummy?

There's tons of ribbon and springy embellishments in the April 2009 Main kit. And aren't these colors just yummy?

The April 2009 Main kit is a tribute to spring in all its feminine glory. The colors are soft purples, blues and greens … and there are tons of embellishments that coordinate perfectly. The best part might just be the Adornit Chipboard “Laugh” album (don’t forget, we put a mini-book in EVERY kit).

prima stampFor the April 2009 Add-on kit we did something a little different. Instead of coordinating the main and add-on kits perfectly, we decided to give to very different options. If you’re looking for something a little brighter, then the April 2009 Add-on kit is perfect for you. It features lots of fun goodies from Prima, including a very sweet stamp kit.

So get your kit now, before they’re all gone. And have a wonderful, creative day.
