Get in on the flower frenzy
By Kelly Hansen
Have you noticed the trend of flowers on projects lately? I have, and I’m loving it. When it comes to embellishments I’m always looking for something different, cute, and easy to make. Take a look at this layout made with handmade tissue paper flowers I made. It was so quick and easy!

This is what you’ll need:
- 3 to 4 sheets of white or color tissue paper
- pencil
- scissors
Step 1:
With all sheets together in a stack, free hand the shape and size you would like (photo below). I made 3 different sizes for more dimension.

Step 2: Holding all sheets in hand, cut out your flowers (photo below).

Step 3: You’re going to wad up each flower shape individually. This helps create that textured look.
Step 4: Now layer your flowers. Add button, brad, or any other embellishment to the center of your flower.

** To give your tissue flowers a different look you can ink, glimmer mist or even paint your tissue paper before starting***

This last week has been a little chaotic for me. I know, I say that all the time. I’m in the middle of wrapping up a big project with my “real” job and I’ve been spending a lot of time in Canada trying to tie up loose ends. I’m happy to say I’m almost done with all that madness and can get some more crafty time in.
As I play catch up, I want to share some wonderful examples of all the things you can do with our November kits. First up is Grace Tolman and our brand new “Add-On Kit with a Kick.”
Park day fun

“This page was inspired by all the earth tones on the paper and embellishment plus the jillibean soup paper with fun trees on it. I added ribbons and date ticket here too. I cut out the trees and used them as embellishments on the page. I cut out strips from the JBS notepads and handwrote my journaling.”

“I loved all the papers in the kit that I decided to show them off here. I picked two that I cut out in pieces and then punched out circles for the rest and created the design on the left with them. I also punched out more notepads into circles and then handwrote my journaling. To make my green title stand out from a bold designed paper, I painted brown on the paper and then adhered my title. I connected the blocks of paper with the circles with a strip of ric rac ribbon and added flowers and two owls.”

Grace also created a card set with some of the contents of the November Add-on Kit with a Kick.
happy birthday card
I used a lot of the embellishments here and created a visual triangle with the yellow stars.

Mom
I used a journaling sticker as an element to lead the eye to the card title. I also added flowers for the feminine touch.

Thank U
I adhered a big journaling sticker onto cardstock, trimmed it and cut in into two pieces. Making the edges point to the butterfly.
