I’ve been a little slack with my 4 things posts. I keep promising myself I’ll get back on track … and then life gets in the way. I have been spending a lot of time in South America. All the travel is making me tired. And when I do get home, I don’t want to blog. But, since I’m on the road right now, I’ll make the best of it, right?
So here are 4 things I’m currently search for or in need of:
1. Pumpkin costumes

My daughter decided a few weeks back that she wants to be a pumpkin for Halloween. She also decided that her little brother is going to be a pumpkin too. That means I need a pumpkin costume for a 6-year-old and an 18-month-old as well. Anyone know of some cute pumpkin costumes I can get for both of them?
2. A new camera bag.
I have been look for a new camera back ever since I got my new camera. The one I have isn’t big enough and frankly, it’s just not cute enough. I’ve been looking at the goodies from Epiphanie Bags, as well as Joe Totes. I love both sites and am considering buying the orange bag for Joe Totes (picture above).
3. Cute AND Flattering Leggings.

I have always wanted to wear leggings, but I just don;t have the right body for it. Every year as the weather starts to cool off, I start dreaming of comfy leggings joining my wardrobe. But I never add them, as I’m certain they won’t work for me. I think this year I’m going to try to break the cycle and get at least one pair of leggings. I want to wear them with some tall, flat boots and a longish sort of top. Any ideas where I can get cute and flattering leggings?
4. Motivation to diet and exercise
I was doing so well for so long … but I’ve fallen off the wagon. I think I’ve gain about 7 pounds in the last 6 weeks and I feel crummy. I’m too scared to get on the scale to see the “real” number, but I just know. I have allowed myself to indulge, indulge and indulge some more … without staying on my exercise plan. Even worse than my pants being tighter, I’m feeling sluggish. I don’t have time to be tired and sickly. I need more energy and pep in my step. Is there a place I can go and buy a cup of motivation? I need it.

Every time I think my life might slow down, it doesn’t. It only seems to get crazier! But, as my husband reminded me last night, I have to find the good in it all and be thankful.
As I give thanks for the blessed life I live … I do daydream of a few thinks I want, but certainly don’t need. Come on, we all do this.
1. A quick trip to Malta.

A killer view off the coast of Malta
I have a trip to Europe planned for August. It’s a business trip, but my husband is coming along for the ride, so it mill be a bit more entertaining than normal. As we plan our trip we are trying to figure out if we can fit a short trip to Malta into our plans. Why Malta? Why not?
2. Hair extensions.
I cut my hair about 8 weeks ago. I chopped quite a bit off. I instantly had regret. Every picture I look out with my previously long, flowing hair … I’m sad. I don’t want to wait for my hair to grow out. I want long, long hair. Now. I’m dreaming of hair extensions, but they aren’t practical and are pretty much a waste of money in my mind. I mean, come on, should I really be spending $400 to $500 on hair extensions? That pretty much ends that daydream!
3. Fall mini kits

Vintage Old Maid cards purchased on Etsy
Normally, most of the kit designing for Crazy Daisy is done by Jennifer. She is the one who pulls everything together. I make suggestions and if we’re together (like at CHA) we make major decisions as a team. However, she really is the one who is repsonsible for making the kits happen. But, for the fall I’m working on some fun mini kits and I can’t stop thinging about all the faulous things I could put in them. For starters? I scoured Etsy and found some yummy vintage paper ephemra. I can’t wait to use it myself and I know you all will love it.
4. CHA Summer Show Releases

Have you seen some of the CHA goodies from this summer’s show? There are a few things I’m really excited about and I can share a few lines that will be making their way into kits this fall. My Mind’s Eye “Lost and Found” collection and Crate Paper’s “Restoration” line. Love ‘em. I’m also looking forward to getting my hands on some of the House of 3 goodies from Pink Paislee.

1. Creative Escape 2010
Last year Jennifer and I were lucky enough to be picked to attend Creative Escape. It was an awesome experience. Loved all of the creative inspiration and left feeling super motivated to craft. Creative Escape 2010 isn’t until the end of August, but I can’t stop thinking abou the fun in store for us. Personally, I’m looking forward to Claudine Hellmuth’s class. I have every book she’s written. I love her style. And I’m in awe of creativity. I can’t wait to be in the same room with her and learn some of her cool techniques. I’m also excited to have the opportunity to take a class from the amazing Jessica Sprague.I’m taking one of Jessica’s self-paced digi classes right now, and it will be cool to meet her in person and get some digi tips.
2. Cooper Walking

I know. I shouldn’t want my little boy to grow up any faster than he already is. But. He’s so close to walking and I love the walking phase. I can’t wait to see him chase his sister or our dog. right now, he’s really into holding onto my hands and walking around the house. It’s just so precious. I had forgotten how much I love this age. Everything is exciting to Cooper and it makes my life that much more exciting.
3. Books

If you know me well, you know that I’ve been a bit of a bookworm all my life. For as long as I can remember I have lost myself in books. However, life has been busy for me. The last few years have been a blur. I haven’t had a chance to read as much as I’d like. But I seem to have found more balance and I am SOlooking forward to tackling the stack of books that has been growing on my nightstand. Among the offerings?
“The Last Time I saw You,” by Elizabeth Berg
“The Girl Who Played with Fire,” by Stieg Larsson
“Three Cups of Tea,” by Greg Mortenson
“The How of Happiness: A New Approach to Getting the Life You Want,” by Sonja Lyumbomirsky
4. San Diego Marathon
I’m walking the San Diego marathon. So is Jennifer. We have been walking our little hearts out for months now. The race is in June and we are going to squeeze in a trip to Sea World while there … so I’m not sure which I’m more excited for! No matter what, all of this walking has been good for me. I have dropped 4 pant sizes since having Cooper a year ago and 60ish pounds. I had a much better post-baby weight loss experience this time … and that’s worth cheering for!

Today I wanted to share/explore some of the things I am dying to try right now. I was working on this blog post in my head while I was on an airplane, so I took notes on my boarding pass. I think I really need to scrap that boarding pass, since it tells the story of my crazy, busy life. But, that’s a whole different post and a whole different project!
Four things I want to try:
1. Layout a Day (LOAD)
Have you heard about Lain Ehmann’s Layout A Day challenge? Three times a year, she leads a month-long layout a day challenge (LOAD). As a writer I always heard “If you want to be a better writer, then you have to write.” Write more. Write about different things. Just write. When I became an editor, I told my reporters the same thing. I assume it works the same for crafting. The more you do it, you unleash your creative beast within. I want to unleash that best. In March I took an online class from Shimelle and it was the best month ever. I created more and was happier with my work than I have been in a long time. For me, I just need a little push and a challenge like this seems like the perfect answer.
2. Spanx Swim suit

Not to toot my own horn, but in the last year I’ve lost some weight. I had a baby, so that helps (you lose a lot of weight when you drop that baby!). But I also managed to lose all the extra weight I’ve put on from having two children, living a chaotic life and not caring if I was eating healthy (I adore ice cream more than just about anything). Since my son was born a year ago I have lost just over 60 pounds. Still with all that weight gone, I’m a little nervous about swimsuit season. Enter Spanx. Ever tried Spanx? Best invention ever. These body shapers suck everything in and make you look amazing. And they just came out with a swimsuit line. I also like how modest they are. I’m not a skimpy bikini kind of girl. Never have been. Never will be. These suits are cute, modest and figure flattering. What could be better than that?
3. Auto Collage
I was listening to the Paperclipping Roundtable podcast on a flight the other day and Stephanie Howell mentioned FotoFusion by LumaPix. It’s photo editing software and the offer a scrapbooking specific solution. What made me curious to try it is that Stephanie mentioned that this particular software has an auto collage feature. You can select the 5 or 10 photos you want to use, click on auto collage and it will generate a photo collage for you. From there you can add digi background papers and embellishments … or just print out your collage and scrap it traditionally. I thought this would be a tool that would allow me to quickly scrap a lot of photos that I love, but no feel compelled to spend a lot of time on. This would allow me to spend more time on the stories I REALLY want to tell, but also find a home for some of the cute photos that I want to look back on year after year.
4. Under Eye Cream

I saw an ad the other day for this under eye cream. It says that it will take away my dark circles. I have had dark circles under my eyes for as long as I can remember. Getting more sleep, eating right … all those things don’t help. I hear it’s genetic. Whatever it is, I’m tired of it. Id like to buy a wonder cream that takes ‘em away. Maybe this is it? Who knows, but for $59 it’s worth a try … if anyone knows of a cream that really works or a home remedy, send them my way. I’d love to get rid of these suckers.
