Have you been following Ali Edwards’ blog and her word of the year?

Last year I read all about her “Word of the Year” idea, and I even think I picked a word. But for the life of me I can’t remember what that word was. For 2010, I’ve picked a word and I am serious about it.

Me.

My word is me.

I’m one of those people who gets very caught up in everyone else. I am a mama and my kids always come first. Even if I’m the bathroom, my daughter will walk right in and start chatting away.

If I have a flight to catch at noon, then I’ll be up before dawn so I can pick up the house grocery shop, pick up dry cleaning for my husband and take my baby to a doctor’s appointment.

In all of this I often get lost. I forgot to take care of myself and usually I tend to have an explosion. Every so often I’ll break down, cry a lot, maybe even scream. And then I’ll be okay … until my next melt down!

In 2010 I’m going to focus on taking care of me. Doing things for me. Taking time for me. I’ve been told that if i do this, then everyone in my orbit (my husband, kids, friends, etc) will benefit. Is their an old saying that goes something like this: if mom is happy, everyone is happy.

I’m hoping that as I focus more on me that I’ll make better decisions for my family and my life. I’m looking forward to a more productive and creative year. I’m excited at all the possibilities ahead of me.

Happy New Year

Happy, Happy New Year!!!

Just a reminder, we won’t be doing any January Kits. We are taking the month off the recover from the holidays, vacations and just normal Jennifer and Kimberly chaos!

But, keep checking back this month … I will be adding all sorts of fun layouts using the December Kit. We’ll be announcing a design team call (it’s that time again). We’re going to CHA, so we’ll share with you some of the new products we see there and will be including in future kits.

I’m so excited for 2010. Great things are happening. I love Crazy Daisy Kit Co. I love being in a creative industry and running a business with my very best girl friend.

Did I mention that Jennifer and I will be walking a marathon in 2010? Yep, we are committed to better health and have signed up for the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon in June. So, I’m sure you’ll hear lots about our progress between now and then … and then I plan on telling our race day story in a mini book.

In 2010, we’ll be adding some fun project kits to our offerings, as well as revealing some awesome partneships with some cool ladies in the scrapbooking industry.

2010 here we come! Watch out, we’re on fire!
