Each summer we would go campingon a small creek in thhe Hobart, Washington area to pick blackberries. Then at home Mom and cousin Jackie and I would strain the berries through cheesecloth and make jellies and syrups to last the year. I learned to make cobblers and crisps from fresh berries that my family still enjoy.

My summer memory are the days I spend scrapbooking with friends. My friends and I scrapbook once a week, We live in Az, we try to beat the heat by staying indoors. There is not a time that we don’t use the cricut. We share cartridges, so that Letters to everything else can be cut. I enjoy the time we share together, ideas, stories, laughter, jokes, friends and making new friends. These are the best times of summer.

  14. Gabrielle says:

I think some of my favorite summer memories revolve around visiting my Great-Aunt in a little town in Kansas. She lived in this big old farmhouse full of antiques that were very fun to look at. The bathroom was bigger than my bedroom at home and featured a huge clawfoot tub. I would help gather eggs and then if I was lucky my Great-Uncle would let me help drive the combine. I also knew the train schedule by heart. It ran right next to the house and I loved to put pennies on the tracks (don’t tell). She was such a caring person that you felt immediately like you belonged when you walked in.
I have also joined your group on Facebook.

My favorite summer memory was the time my family and my best friends family camped at Lake Placid, NY. We had so much fun playing oldies music that the whole campground was squeezed on our campsite singing and dancing with us. Our grown children still talk about it. We had many more camping adventures but Lake Placid was the best.

  31. When I was a child, my Dad was a dragracer. He raced his harley davidson which he built in our garage for a living. http://granddaddyjoesmith.com/Home_Page.php
And he did very well. Anyhow, we drove all over the US to race and do exhibitions. Stayed in hotels and KOA camps. I loved meeting all the different people, swimming everyday, watching my Dad race but most of all I love the family time during that 4 months of racing…
