Can you believe that it’s already March? I certainly can’t. This year is just flying by. My baby will a year old in April, so it feels like time is just whizzing by!

But once great things about March arriving is we’re revealing the full contents of the March 2010 Kits.

BIG NEWS and a chance to win

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Over on Heidi Swapp’s blog, you can enter to win a February 2010 Mini Kit. There is also a coupon code there for $10 off your first kit with a 6-month subscription. So everyone is a winner!

But what I’m most excited about is this … Heidi announced a little secret that I’ve been carrying around for some time. Heidi is going to be our April Guest Designer!! We heart Heidi Swapp like you couldn’t believe. She has so much energy. She is so talented. And she is one of the most genuine people I’ve met. We are THRILLED to see what she’ll be doing with our April Main Kit. That kit will also include a download from Heidi’s House of 3 site, as well as some of the Heidi Swapp Glimmer Mist.

Have you checked out Heidi’s live web show? It is awesome. I watched it last week with my five-year-old and she kept asking, “Do we have that? Can we do that too?” We have since made one of House of 3’s Sweetie Books for Shelby’s kindergarten teacher. And I’ve downloaded some of the birthday goodies that recently were added. Check out the House of 3 blog. It’s oh so inspiring.

Member Spotlight: Susan E.

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Another new addition to the Crazy Daisy Blog will be weekly member spotlights.

In order to do this, we need your help. Send us pictures of what you create with out kits. We’d love to see what you do, share it with others and be inspired by your craftiness. Please! Share! We all want to see what you do with the kit! Email me  and I’ll get you on the blog.

This week we are excited to introduce you to Susan Eldridge.  I was so excited when Susan answered my call for members to send in their work. Before I even asked for members to send in their creations, I have been to Susan’s blog and thought she was pretty cool. Now all of you can think she’s cool too!

So, here’s a little bit about Susan …

1. I started scrapbooking … about six years ago because I love crafting and I finally gave in to scrapbooking. I haven’t really been a fast scrapbooker, but I’m hoping to pick up the pace this year.

2. My favorite scrapbooking product, tool or manufacturer is … I don’t think I could scrapbook without my ruler and xacto knife. I’m always impressed with the papers from Basic Grey.

3. My favorite thing to scrapbook about is …  my girls. Probably 95% of what I scrapbook is about them, but this year I’m trying to include myself and the hubs more.

4. I scrapbook because …  it’s my creative outlet and my de-stresser. I love capturing the memories for my girls and hope they love my scrapbooks as much I would have loved to have some from my mother.

5. I am the happiest when … I’m looking back at old photos and recall various memories from that time.

Check out more of Susan’s work and get to know her a little better on her blog. And her are some layouts Susan created using the Crazy Daisy February 2010 Main Kit.

March Peek

Monday, February 15th, 2010

I can’t resist. I just have to show you a little something from March. It’s a complete departure from what we did in February and it’s just so luscious!

Did you see the new Lush line from My Mind’s Eye? Well, we did. We loved it. We had to get it. And it’s one of the featured items in our March 2010 Main Kit. The mini for March is the lovely Green Lush Album!

Are you excited? I hope so, ’cause this is one great kit. I’m about to add the March 2010 Main Kit to our shopping cart. That way, if you really want it, you can pre-order. Remember, if you order now … you’re kit won’t ship until March 10th. And if you are already a Crazy Daisy subscriber, no worries –  you’re kit is already reserved.

Going hybrid?

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

I’ve been thinking a lot about digital scrapbooking lately. I’ve been traveling quite a bit as of late, which can put a serious kink into my crafting plans. I want to be more creative, so I need to think outside of my traditional crafting methods to include some things that will allow me to while I’m on the road.

I don’t think I could ever go completely digital. I like holding my page elements in my hands. I like to play with the little bits and pieces. But, I could have my hands in both worlds, right.

So, now here is my question … where can I find the very best digital and hybrid resources? Are there any good tutorials out there? And suggestions on how to get started? Help!

collagewith Claudine Hellmuth and her collage book, “Collage Discovery Workshop – Beyond the Unexpected: New Techniques Using Color, Personal Imagery and Creative Surfaces.” Seriously, I’ve been carrying the book around in my purse. I read it whenever I get a chance and when I’m not reading the book I’m thinking about it. I’ve dreamt about the book and all the things I can do with the ideas Claudine shares. I’ve come up with a bunch of different collages I want to create and I can’t wait to get to work. For the most part, I own everything I need to try out all the different techniques Claudine teaches in her book, but yesterday I picked up a few last supplies and I’m ready to go.

Today I’m going to create my first project, it is inspired by the Beatles, since there has been a lot of Beatles Rock Band playing going on in my house! I was listening to the lyrics of one particular song last night and I was stuck by how much the words mean to me right now. It heard exactly what I needed to hear … which is interesting ’cause I’ve heard this song about a million times and have never been so moved, inspired or buoyed by it. Don’t you love how things speak to you in different ways, at different times in your life?

I can’t wait to show you what I create. After this particuly collage, I have another one planned (also inpsired by a Beatles song), and I’m going to be using items from the current Crazy Daisy Kit to make it! There are so many cool ways you can use your kit … it doesn’t just have to be on a scrapbook page.

Are you doing anything cool today? What’s inspiring you? Do you any fall projects planned? Do tell, we want to hear and share!

A Terrific Tuesday

And what would be better than a terrific mini book to inspire you?

Here’s a look at what you can do with the mini-book in October Kit courtesy of Miss Jackie:

my-cherished-memories-mini-close-up

“I used this months awesome mini that came in the kit to make a book about my vacation to Ontario! I love this months kit…it came bursting with super cute chipboard alphas … a girl can never have to much chipboard! It also came with gorgeous metal embellies! I used one of the embellishments as part of my title for my book !And I stapled ruffles in the gorgeous velvet ribbon …t he perfect touch for my mini cover!

Every month I have left overs from my kit … because each kit is packed with awesome goodies … so I used some chipboard paisley pieces from the September Kit! I filled them with bling to add some pop! The papers … and the embellies in the October kit are AMAZING!!! I don’t know how Kimberly and Jennifer do it but they pick out the most amazing papers … and perfect coordinating embellishments every month!”
