The July 2010 Main Kit is here! Check it out. It’s a fabulous combination of warmth, grunge and a little holiday goodness (Happy Fourth of July). This month’s kit has the cutest star shaped mini book, lots of red toned papers and adorable Pink Paislee goodies (my current favorite scrapbooking manufacturer).

Grace’s Place: June Layouts
June 17, 2010Need some ideas on how to use your June kit? Feast your eyes on these creations by Grace …
1. All Grown Up
I love this page. I love that the colors of the cardstock and papers compliment my pictures and make the purples in my girl’s dress pop out more. I didn’t think the blue in the chipboard letters compliment my page so I sprayed it with glimmer mist but didn’t stick well on the surface so I rubbed it off and left a distinct color distortion. I also sprayed the mist onto the cardstock to compliment the rustic feel of the page.

2. Celebrate
I love double sided papers because you get the most designs for your buck. Such is the case in this layout where I only used three papers but got six different but complimenting designs. I also punched 1″ circles and layed them out in the middle to break all the blockiness of the page. I used my pen to create a frame on my title to make it stand out more against the background.

3. his anchors
I wanted to keep this layout simple to focus on my journaling and picture. There’s certain layouts that doesn’t need too much products to tell a story. I felt this one was in that category. My sewing machine is packed up right now in a storage place somewhere in town so I didn’t have it on hand to sew up my lace so I chose to use a stapler instead. Speaking of the lace, I used it to create my visual triangle in the page.

4. The last time
This was the first page I made with the kit. I love my first pages with the Crazy Daisy kit because it usually has a little bit of everything in the kit on the layout. I handcut flowers from a pattern paper to use as an embellishment and added the Pink Paislee brads in the centers of them. I also used a die cut tab in the top left corner.

5. Thanksgiving 09
Here’s my double page spread for this month. I used a lot of pattern papers here to create my borders. I also used the bracket die cuts to act as borders of my journaling block. I added a black fabric brad on the “g” in the title too and cut out more flowers to add as an embellishment.
4 Things: Makin’ me smile
May 19, 2010Four things making me smile this fabulous Wednesday …
1. This lovely layout
2. I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I heart the Brave Girls Club. I want to be a Brave Girl. And I want my daughter to be one too.

3. Words with Friends on my iPhone. I play with my husband. I play with Jennifer (she is currently beating me on not one, but two games we have going). I play with my brother-in-law. I play with my sister-in-law. I play with strangers. I just love this game. Come play with me, I’m crazydaisykits.
4. Fabric flowers of all kinds. Tonight, while I am watching TV, I’m going to use this tutorial (photo below) to make some flowers. Then, I’m going to make some of these … and add them to a tank for me and for Shelby, just like in the tutorial!
I’m starting to feel more motivated and less couch potato …. Have a GREAT Wednesday.
May Guest Designer
April 27, 2010
Have you head the news? Stacy Julian joins us as our May Guest Designer!
Stacy, who is the mastermind behind Big Picture Scrapbooking, is well known for her work at Simple Scrapbooks Magazine and her speedy approach to scrapping …
Her official bio says, “Stacy Julian is a life and scrapbook enthusiast who thrives on attempting to do more than she ought to. She is an early riser and a student of the scriptures. She bakes brownies frequently and jogs multiple times a week (so she can eat said brownies.) A fairly recent convert to yoga, Stacy now admits to liking downward dog-something she thought she’d never say. ‘I’m also color enthusiast, but I’m running out of neutral walls in my home to paint. It’s a good thing I have a stockpile of beautiful paper to turn to.’
Stacy has authored several books on scrapbooking, with the goal of helping other scrapbookers let go of unrealistic expectations and embrace the joy of telling personal stories. When Stacy is not working at Big Picture Scrapbooking or blogging at stacyjulian.com, she is mothering five nearly perfect children (wink), starting a new project her husband will have to finish or organizing a closet with her Dymo labeler.”
We are super excited to see what Stacy does with our May 2010 Main Kit.
DT: April Mini Kit
April 13, 2010I got an email from Kelly Hansen today. She’s on our design team and she creates projects with the mini kit each month.
I love what she had to say about the April Mini Kit.
“I got a lot with this months mini kit. 4 layouts, 3 cards and I made a mini album out of the scraps.”
Is that not awesome? Seriously, can you find a better deal than $17 for all that and then some?
Here’s a look at what Kelly created (minus the mini book … I’ll show that later). Be aware … this is a photo heavy post!

DT: Spring Flowers
April 2, 2010
Hello! With spring here, I have flowers and gardening on the brain. Although I do not have a green thumb to save my life. In fact, I am more likely to be known as the “grim reaper” of plants and flowers! So I thought something easy that *hopefully* I won’t kill off, would be these moss terrariums that you see poppin’ up all over etsy. I wanted one so bad last year, but they are rather pricey. I decided it couldn’t be too difficult to make my own. You need these few things:
A container
Sand (some use small gravel)
Charcoal (optional. . .you can find them in the aquarium section of a pet store – it’s to ward off smells)
Moss (I found some in a shady area of my yard)
Decorative Objects (this is the fun part!)
I used a jar that I picked up at a garage sale, the sand is for draining — although you don’t need very much at all. For the moss I scooped up a hearty section of soil with the moss and for decorative objects, I used smooth stones purchased from Wal-Mart. I plan to make a mushroom with mold-able clay and maybe purchase something cute from etsy.
You pretty much assemble it in that order too! Easy peasy! I just packed the moss down a bit and positioned the stones where I thought they looked good. This also gives the moss a place to grow. You’ll need a lid for your container to lock the moisture in and just keep it in indirect light and spray it to moisten it about once a month. There ya have it! Here are some links to inspire you toward your own Moss Terrarium. . .
Need some inspiration? Check this out … or this. How ’bout just one more!
For some some fun decorative accessories … you can go here, here and here.
Have fun and I’d love to see what you come up with!
