And the winners are …

Posted on by crazydaisy

Thank you all so much for your great comments. We’re gonna use them to make our kits even better than they already are!

The winners of the Crazy Daisy scrapbooking bags with some yummy goodies inside are:

Stephanie S:

“I’m always looking for kits to provide that one item that is fun and unique and that I wouldn’t always pick up at a store — But that somehow when it is with all the other kit pieces I find I can’t live without that one special ‘thing.’ “

Jenn F:

“Stamps are always fun and I can never get enough ribbon :)

Lynette C:

“I would love to see stamp as part of the monthly kit. I love scrapbooking and stamping and it nice have a piece from each month that can be used again and again. But I hope that with the additional of a stamp price of the kit would not increase and other components will not be reduced.

Please email me your address to  kimberly@crazydaisykits.com, so we can send out your goodies! Keep checking back for more fun blog posts and giveaways. We love to give stuff away!

A cool challenge site

Posted on by crazydaisy

I was surfing the Web tonight a stumbled on “A YOU Scrapbooking Idea — Weekly Challenge ,” it’s a scrapbooking challenge project that focuses on creating pages all about you.

Each week they post a challenge and an example of how’d they would scrap that challenge. What I found appealing about this particular challenge was that the prompts would force me to document my personal story and focus on me. So often I scrap about my kids and forget to document my story independent of my children and husband.

They started posted challenges in January, so there are already 24 challenges waiting for you to tackle. The most recent challenge is “I can’t live without … “

Okay, so I’ll play along. I can’t live without …

my family, specifically my husband and kids.

my iPhone. I’m addicted to the sucker, it makes my life so much easier.

my fuzzy travel socks. There’s nothing better than slipping those warm, fuzzy socks on at the start of a plane ride.

books. For as long as I can remember, I have had a great love affair with books. There’s nothing better than snuggling up with a great book and a sweet treat of some sort.

What can’t you live without? I’m gonna scrapbook the things I can’t love without, and you should too.

CHALLENGE: How would you scrap it?

Posted on by crazydaisy
My very own Crazy Daisy, my DD Shelby Rose.

My very own Crazy Daisy, my DD Shelby Rose.

Last Friday, I posted a picture of my daughter Shelby and asked you all how’d you scrap it.

Here’s what I did.  Using the June Main kit, I printed out the picture of Shelby with her hands on her hips as a 5×7, so it would be the major element on the page. It’s such a cute picture, so I wanted it to be the focus. I painted the large monograms (CRAZY) white, leaving a lot of the natural color visible and then stapled them onto the page. Then using some rub-ons, I added “daisy” near the letter “C.” Since I wanted Crazy to stand out more, I used the huge lettering and chose small rub-ons for daisy.

My journaling came directly from last week’s blog post and I just cut it into strips. Finally, I added some felt flowers and the adorable owl/flower pebbles.

This page is rather simple. Lately I’ve been trying to create pages that are less cluttered and focus more on the photos or the story. I often have a hard time stopping myself from adding just one more embellishment. The end result for this page is pretty clean and cute (I put my embellishments down and walked away … otherwise you would have seen a much more cluttered page). I love it and my daughter liked it too (she’s the real judge since the page is all about her!).

So what do you think? What should I have done different? How would you have done it? Submit a layout or a sketch, so we can see how you would scrap it. We’ll pick a winner next Friday.

Let’s get Crazy

Posted on by anchorwave

Welcome to our Crazy Daisy world. I for one am excited about all Crazy Daisy has to offer and you should be too. In the months to come we’re going to put the fun and creative back into your scrapbooking, all while saving you a little time. How you ask? Well, it’s simple. In every kit we send your way, there’s a mini-book. Using all the paper, embellishments and such that come with the kit, you’re just a few hours away from a finished product. My biggest frustration with scrapbooking lately is that I feel like I never finish anything. My life is busy and only bound to get busier. I want to feel like I accomplish something. And I think our kit provides the solution. Look what I did with January’s kit. I made a recipe book. My husband’s great-aunt gave me a ton of family recipes that she and her sisters used around Christmas time way back in the ’30s and ’40s. They used to pack tins of their baked goodness and share them with friends and family. I wanted to both preserve the recipes and the memories and the best part is I did just that in one short afternoon.

Now on to the really fun stuff … I want to give stuff away. Post a comment about what you’re most frustrated about in your scrapbooking. We’ll pick a winner at random and send you some fun scrappin’ supplies to ease your frustration.

Thanks for stopping by, we’re so excited to be hear and can’t wait to have you stop by again (soon)!
