Between being sick, working, taking care of my kiddos, working some more and getting ready for Thanksgiving … it’s a wonder I’ve gotten anything done! Not that I really have (there is ALWAYS more to do, right?)… but I can offer up some new layouts!
Here are a few of my latest creations. What are you working on?
The May Kits have been shipped. They actually went out a little early, so you might already have yours in your hands! Either way, here’s a look at the mini book the wonderful Stacy Julianmade with the May 2010 Main Kit. It is such a thrill for me to see what Stacy creates, and especially when it was created from one of our kits. She’s so talented, and I love her scrapbooking philosophy. Thanks a million Stacy for taking the time to be our May Guest Designer.

Last week I signed up for an online scrapbooking class from Shimelle. I was intrigued by the idea behind the class, “Something for Almost Nothing.” Over the course of three weeks, Shimelle will be helping her students use up their stash. You know what stash she’s referring to …all of the scrapbooking supplies you have amassed over the years, but never use. We all hang onto certain products we love. Some of us horde paper. Some horde ribbon. Some horde kits. Some horde everything! That would be me … a hoarder of all things crafty. I have more paper than anyone one woman can ever craft with. Ditto for buttons, ribbons, chipboard, paint, fabric … and the list goes on.
In this class, Shimelle has us combing through our stash and pulling out all the things we’ve been “saving” for later. We’re creating a mini book, which is celebrating our lives, and I’m using a mini kit from last year as a foundation for this book. Also in the class, three times a week we’re given ideas for layouts and ways to use up the supplies we have. I’m loving this class. I have been taking out old Crazy Daisy kits that I never used or are half used … and am putting these awesome supplies to work. I’ve already created three 12×12 layouts, a canvas, and have a mini book started (the class started on the 10th, so I feel like I’m doing pretty well!).
The cool thing is I’m on a serious crafting and creative roll. I’ve been thinking about all things crafty nonstop and have been crafting with every spare moment I have. I love how inspired I feel. Here’s a layout I have in progress. I punched out circles in various sizes from coordinating papers. Then I ran some adhesive across the bottom of my cardstock. I started putting the circles down in no particular order. When I was finished, I sewed over the circles, just to make sure everything was secure and to added a little extra detail. I found a round chipboard journaling spot that will work perfectly for the page and I’m planning on adding some journaling (in bullet form) of all the things my little guy is doing now that he’s 11 months old! I would have never thought to do something like this, but thanks to Shimelle, I have a page that is very different than my standard pages and I used up lots of goodies in my stash.

On an unrelated (but very cool) note … if you haven’t already heard, Heidi Swapp is our amazing guest designer for April. On her blog, she has some peeks of the projects she’s been working on using our April 2010 Main Kit. Go here to see what she’s been doing with the kit and get a little peek at what will be coming your way in April.
We’ll be posting a sneak peek of the April Kit later this week. If you don’t already subscribe, send me an email if you’d like to make sure you get an April Kit.
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Note: Please excuse my fuzzy photos. It’s late. I’m tired. We’ve all been quite sick at my house. And being lazy, I took these photos with my iPhone! I promise to do better … as soon as the RSV loosens its grip on my baby boy and we all sleep through the night again!
Over on Heidi Swapp’s blog, you can enter to win a February 2010 Mini Kit. There is also a coupon code there for $10 off your first kit with a 6-month subscription. So everyone is a winner!
But what I’m most excited about is this … Heidi announced a little secret that I’ve been carrying around for some time. Heidi is going to be our April Guest Designer!! We heart Heidi Swapp like you couldn’t believe. She has so much energy. She is so talented. And she is one of the most genuine people I’ve met. We are THRILLED to see what she’ll be doing with our April Main Kit. That kit will also include a download from Heidi’s House of 3 site, as well as some of the Heidi Swapp Glimmer Mist.
Have you checked out Heidi’s live web show? It is awesome. I watched it last week with my five-year-old and she kept asking, “Do we have that? Can we do that too?” We have since made one of House of 3′s Sweetie Books for Shelby’s kindergarten teacher. And I’ve downloaded some of the birthday goodies that recently were added. Check out the House of 3 blog. It’s oh so inspiring.
Better late than never, right?! I wanted to share another layout from our fabulous December guest designer, Becky Novacek.
When Becky sent the layout in she mentioned, “I can’t believe how much of the kit I have left after doing 3 layouts! Especially with all the paper I used on the one of Mia!”
Our kits really are crammed packed with tons of goodies. Every month when we pack up the kits we have trouble stopping ourselves from adding more product. You get so much for the price. I truly believe this kit is the best value out there. We aim to never, ever disappoint you.
Hello there. Happy Saturday. Christmas preparations are in full swing at my house. I’ve made a goal to wrap at least one present a day, so I won’t be stuck wrapping a mountain of presents late into the night on Christmas Eve. I know already have most of my children’s presents wrapped, so I’m feeling great. My daughter thinks it’s awesome that there are presents under the tree, though she is constantly begging to open “just one present!”
Here are a couple of wonderful layouts from our guest designer of the month, BeckyNovacek. There are more pages coming, but I just couldn’t wait to show you some fun pages from Becky.
I know I say this every month, but I think this is my favorite kit. It’s so festive. I just love, love it!
We are super excited to welcome Becky Novacek as our December Guest Designer.
She’ll be whipping out December Main Kit into some fabulous layouts and we can’t wait to show you all her creations.
Here’s a little bit about Becky to tide you over until we unveil her crafty goodness.
“about 8 years ago, i started really getting into scrapbooking. i mean i really got into it! i loved looking online at layouts in galleries and found myself wanting my scrapbooking to be more than just documenting birthdays and holidays. i wanted to document the every day happenings….as well as my feelings. it became my way of expressing myself not only visually, but i also felt like it was almost therapeutic for me to express my feelings toward my family and loved ones. the empty nest season of life hit me pretty hard at first….but as i created pages about my children as they became more and more independent, it helped me to feel better about what i had done with the child rearing season of life. deep, i know but it is true! i still love it as much, if not more than i did in the beginning. i love to spend time in my studio making pages about us. i also have a passion for photography, so it’s the perfect combination of interests for me.”
Becky, thank you for being a part of the Crazy Daisy experience. We think you’re one cool and talented chica.
