April kit + cute pics =

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

A very adorable page.

This picture of my little girl and her dog is one of my favorites. She’s just such a happy girl and she LOVESher dog. What better way of showcasing their bond, than using the Crazy Daisy April 2009 Main kit. I love the girlie feel of all the colors and how much they just feel like Spring.  I’ve stayed away from girlie colors for a long time (I went through a serious pink phase and had to stop cold turkey), so this is the first time in a long time I’ve used colors that are bright, bold and circus-ish (is that even a word?). The result? Just plain sweet … like my daughter, so it’s perfect.

If you want a chance to win one of our April 2009 Main kits before you can buy them, head on over to ScrapScene. We’re sponsoring a giveaway there and your last chance to enter will be tomorrow (Wednesday) night. So don’t hesitate, enter for your chance to win.

Also, don’t forget we’re this week’s sponsor over at 52 Sketches, 52 Weeks. Submit a layout based on this week’s sketch and be entered into a drawing to win a Crazy Daisy kit.

Hoping you’re day is bright and happy,

Kimberly

The March Add-on kit

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

ROCKS!!! That’s right, the March 2009 Add-on kit rocks. I so love it and I love some of the pages I have made with it.

Case in point: Last night I finished up the cutest … I mean cutest … two page spread with the March Add-on kit. A few weeks back we spent a day at the zoo with my moms’ club and I wanted to scrap the photos of my daughter feeding the giraffes. The colors were perfect for the photos, as were all the embellishments. My husband tells me these are his favorite pages (at least of those I’ve done in the last month)! How’s that for good feedback?

Do you know what the best part of being one half of Crazy Daisy is? Scrapping. Since we launched this site and the club, I’ve spent so much more time actually scrappin’ and creating. I’m so excited to have new pages to display and each night I look forward to pulling out my supplies and getting to work. I hope that Crazy Daisy can and will inspire you all to do the same!

Have a wonderful Sunday evening,

Kimberly

Then, scrappers submit layouts based off the sketch.  Each week  the site features different kit clubs as sponsors and someone who submits a layout will win a kit from the sponsor. Go and join the 52 Sketches, 52 Weeks community. You’ll find tons of inspiration. And at the same time, you could win one awesome kit from Crazy Daisy!

My sunshine

My little girl is such a ham. Bring out the camera and she starts posing. This weekend we took a few photos of her outside, since the weather has been great here in Arizona. Looking at the pictures, I knew right away I had to scrap them. They caught her true essence and I want to remember that when she’s all grown up (or maybe when she’s a sassy teenager who won’t listen to me).

Again, I used the March Main kit and I also added a few items from the March Add-on kit.  I am really happy with this page. It really looks like sunshine to me!

Sneak peek

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

So, life has been CRAZY! My daughter is sick. In the last 30 minutes she has peed on the carpet and pooped in the bathtub. What in the world is going on?  She’s almost five, so I haven’t experienced the floating poop thing in a very long time. If I wasn’t 9-months pregnant,  I’m not sure this would all be getting to me so much. I’m just SO ready to have this baby.

So what better way to cheer myself up, then to share a sneak peek of the April 2009 Main kit. I adore it. Jennifer went all out when she put the April kit together and it’s just adorable. It’s a huge departure from March with lots of light spring colors. It had an AWESOME album in it, which would be perfect to use for Easter pictures or a Mother’s Day gift.

Next week we’ll be doing another giveaway at ScrapScene. You can be one of the first to get their hands on an April kit. Head over to ScrapScene on Monday and try your hand at winning a wonderful April 2009 Main kit.

And the following week (April 6th) we’ll launch our search for a design team. I’m so excited to see what you all produce and put together a Crazy Daisy team.

I have a few more things to share that I made using the March kits .. so I’ll do that before the month is over. I also have the cutest page I made using the April Main kit that I’m just dying to share. I was going to wait to post it next week, but I think I’m going to cheat and show it to you early!!

A few days late …

Friday, March 20th, 2009

I was planning on posting some more layouts I created with the March kit … and then this little thing called labor got in the way. It was a false alarm, but I did spend quite a bit of time in the hospital, so I didn’t get a chance to post my layouts!

But I’m back home now and just itchin’ to share my work! I did a two-page spread using the March Main kit. Pretty much everything is from the kit, except I used some paint on the page and added an additional piece of card stock from my stash.

I love how bright these pages are. I’m really into yellow and orange right now, and that’s clearly reflected on these pages. The fun thing about these pages are I didn’t actually design them. Let me explain. I had all the elements I wanted to use sitting on the page. I was giving the page a final looked before I secured everything to the page. That’s when my 4-year-old came over and rearranged everything. The final product? A much more appealing page. I left it exactly as she arranged it and she gets complete design credit! So there you go, my 4-year-old has a great eye for design.

I was going to add a few more embellishmentsto both pages (I  can never stop!!!), but my husband declared them done and I went ahead a listen to him. Scrapbooking is a family process in my house.

Tonight while we watch March Madness games, I’m going to use this month’s album to create a little book for the new baby. I sort of envision it as a way to introduce him to all his family. It will be simple with a picture of each us and who we are. Then when I’m rocking him, I can show him who all the people who love him are. I also thought it would be fun for my daughter to read to him, since it will be so simple for her to show him the pictures and tell him who’s who.

Check back on Monday for a giveaway. We have the most adorable Crazy Daisy scrapbooking bags and we’d like to give a few away with some special little trinkets inside. Have a wonderful rest of the day!

xo,

Kimberly

I love my page

I’ve been working on creating some pages using the contents of the March kits. I must admit I’m a little slow going as I’m now as big as a house and the waddling is about at its worst! However, today I’ve felt better than I have in weeks and felt super excited about creating some fun pages.

The first page I’d like to show you features some ultrasound photos. With my first child I started her initial album with the ultrasound photos, so I’m doing the same thing for this baby. Since I’m having a boy this time around, I wanted to stay away from girly colors and make things a whole lot brighter. The March main kit is the perfect combination of sunshine and pep. Each time I look at it I smile and it makes me think of the circus (not sure why, it just does). So the colors are perfect for a child and a boy baby at that!

Absolutely everything on this page came from the March Main kit … all the paper, embellishments, letters, etc. I didn’t use a single item from my personal stash! You’ll start to see that I’m a more is more kind of scrapper. I’ve been trying to embrace the minimalist trend I see out there, but I have a really hard time doing so. When I started this particular page, I had planned on having a ton of open space … but that didn’t happen. I guess everyone has their own style, right?

Tomorrow I’ll show you two more pages I did today, featuring my HUGE belly.  I also used items from the March Main kit for these pages and used some paint, which I love.

Hope you’re having a great day. What are you creating today?

Answering your questions

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Many of you have asked if you could subscribe to an RSS feed to get updates from our site/blog. We heard your cries and have added an RSS feed button to our blog page. Click on it, subscribe and you’ll always been in the know about what’s going on at Crazy Daisy.

Secondly, there has been some confusion about how the subscriptions work. When you enter the shopping cart, you’ll see the items we currently have available. The price that you see is the one time purchase price. When you add that item to your cart you, you’ll be asked to select a subscription — either for 3 months or 6 months (the no expiration subscriptions are coming next month) — and a discount will be taken off the price of the kit. If you order a 6 month subscription, we’ll also send you a free gift with purchase!

You can also simply select no subscription and you’ll be charged full price.  Once you subscribe, we’ll send you your kit and keep doing so for the length of your subscription. Your credit card will be charged for one kit at the time of purchase and recharged each month on the 5th until your subscription runs out.

When your subscription gets close to ending, we’ll remind you how great we are and how much you love us, so you’ll renew and keep getting Crazy Daisy kits delivered to your home!

Please, if you have any questions email us at info@crazydaisykits.com.

Have a great day,

What I’m working on right now

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

This is what I'm working on right now, some accents for my new baby's room. I'm going to add some papers and embellishments from March's main kit.

With the birth of my second child just around the corner (I’m three weeks from my due date, already dilated to 2 and contracting all the time), I’ve been focusing on projects related to our new addition.

His nursery is almost done and has a Dr. Seuss theme. It’s very boyish and features primary colors. I wanted to add a few little homemade accents to the room, so I have been  using all of my scrapbooking supplies to make a few things. Right now, I’m working on decorating his initials which will sit on a shelf in his room. I’ve painted them red, yellow and blue so far … and have picked out some pattern paper from our March Main kit to cover part of the letters with. I’m also planning on using some of the embellishments from the March kit as well to add a little more pizazz. My husband told me it add sissy things to the letters, so no flowers. I think I’ll be sticking with buttons and ribbons unless anyone has any suggestions on non-sissy embellishments.

Next, I’m going to scrap some ultrasound pictures!

Go create something great. And don’t forget to head over to ScrapScene to enter to win one of two kits we’re giving away. The contest closes tonight, so don’t delay.

xoxo,

Kimberly
